The vest, with its back-shifted shoulderline, is worked entirely double stranded in stockinette stitch in one piece, top down, starting at the accentuated shoulderline at upper back.
First, back part is worked down to underarms; then, the two front parts are worked in opposite direction, starting from shoulderline. More rows are worked here than on back part, so that back neckline sits slightly lower. At the underarms, these slightly elongated front parts are joined to back part. Finally, side slits are worked along bottom edge; to achieve this, back and front parts are finished separately. All edges are worked as I-Cords.

• TORINO Bouclé 175 (200/200/225/250/275) g in Carmine 33, a piece of scrap yarn in a different color of same weight; optionally stitch markers, 1 tapestry needle, 6 (6/6/6/7/7) buttons (diameter approx. 15 mm)

GAUGE/TENSION
• 18 sts and 33 rows using ndl size 4.0 mm (US 6/UK 8), worked double stranded (2 strands Torino) in main pattern = 10 × 10 cm / 4“ square

NEEDLES 

• 80-100 cm / 32-40“ circular needles size 4.0 mm (US 6/UK 8) and 3.75 mm (US 5/UK 9), 2 dpns size 3.75 mm (US 5/UK 9), crochet hook size 4.0 mm (US 6/UK 8)
