Torino Dress
Designed by kolibri by johanna
The dress is knitted in one piece in garter stitch. First, the skirt is worked sideways in a two-colour striped pattern. German short rows shape the stripes, creating a narrower waist and a wide, approximately ankle-length hem. The skirt edges are joined using the mattress stitch; optionally, a side slit can be left open.
Stitches are then picked up along the waist edge, and the bodice is worked in the round. The striped pattern is continued, while increases at the sides shape the bust. The front and back are then worked separately, with decreases shaping the neckline and armholes, followed by narrow straps. Finally, all edges are finished with an I-cord edging.
